AN OVERVIEW OF FAITH FORMATION ACTIVITIES
Sunday School - 3 yr. - 5th grade
Children are invited to begin Sunday School at age 3. Redeemer uses One Room Sunday School curriculum which allows all children to learn and work together as they explore the stories and people in the Bible.
Sunday School children learn songs and hymns which they present during worship once a month as a Special Music Offering. They also participate in worship by ushering with their families on the third Sunday of each month and hearing the Bible story during Children's Time each week.
First Communion Instruction
Children in 5th grade or 10 years old are invited to attend instruction in the spring. A four-week class teaches them about the importance of the Sacrament of Holy Communion, preparing them to receive their 1st Communion on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week.
Redeemer's Sunday School students present Christmas and Easter Programs during worship. This is the children's opportunity to dress up in costumes and tell the stories of Jesus' birth and resurrection through drama and songs. It is an opportunity for the congregation to capture again the wonder of Jesus through the eyes of a child.
