A link for Confirmation Worship Note Forms is below.
Laura Clark has volunteered to lead confirmation again this year. Confirmation classes meet from 9:00-10:30 am on Sundays at either Zion or Redeemer (whichever church has the 10:30 service).
Dear Parents of Confirmation Students:
Confirmation classes will start September 24, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 9:00 a.m. Confirmation classes are held at the church which currently has the 10:30 a.m. service. Redeemer will host confirmation for the months of Sept., Oct., Nov., and Dec. 2023. Zion will host the months of Jan., Feb., March, and April 2024. The rite of confirmation will be held in May for 2nd year students. The date has yet to be set, but May 5 and 12 are both open. Parents of 2nd year students should let Laura Clark or Wanda Minniecheske know their preference. There will not be confirmation classes on November 19 and 26, December 24 and 31, March 24 and 31. On December 17, confirmation students are expected to help with Sunday School Christmas programs. Parents of students are expected to provide transportation, Ride sharing is encouraged. (Redeemer students: Let Laura know if you need a ride to Tigerton.)
Welcome Nathaniel Horne, 1st year student!
Students are to be on time with their personal Bibles. Lessons will be done in class with some homework, mostly journal notes and/or discussion with parents. We will be studying the Apostles Creed, Luther’s life and Catechism, and a review of Lutheran beliefs. Students are provided with a notebook to keep their lessons. If a student will be absent, please let Laura know. I will provide a copy of the missed work that the student must make up on his/her own.
Students are not to have cell phones out during class. Phones will be confiscated and returned to parents if they become a problem.
Anyone who wants to donate snacks will make the students happy! (Thank you to Tracy and Heather for providing snacks last year.)
Students are to complete 14 sermon notes from September - April. Blank forms are available on the table as you enter the sanctuary at Redeemer and in the narthex before you enter the church at Zion. Completed notes are to be placed in the Youth leader mailbox at Redeemer and in a basket next to blank forms at Zion. (Please complete the form fully. Partially completed forms will be returned for completion.) Redeemer tapes sermons and there is a link on their website should you be ill. You may also do sermon notes on the Wednesday services during Lent.
Students are to complete 20 hours of church/community service. Ideas: Acolyting, Pizza fundraiser, Church supper, Easter breakfast, helping Sunday School students during Christmas programs, Christmas shopping fundraiser, Valentine Party, Palm Sunday on the Farm, Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School (1st year students), etc. Students are to keep track of hours and share with Laura
