Worship & The Word
Worshiping God is ... a believer's primary faith practice.
While we can worship God anywhere, there is something special and necessary for Faith Formation in worshiping with an inter-generational mix of believers in a church setting. |
Connecting with God's Word is ... another key faith practice for all believers.
Some ways we can connect with God's Word in worship, through daily Bible reading, group Bible study, and using devotionals. |
Worship at Redeemer revolves around -
God's Word read out loud;
Hymns sung together with one voice;
celebrating the Sacraments;
Prayers for the Christian Church, our world & community, and all in need;
and Being Sent back into the world to share the Good News of Jesus.

Reading the Bible
You would like to read and study the Bible, but you don't really know where to start. The Bible you own or remember reading years ago was written in a language you didn't understand. What should you do?
Suggestion #1: The Bible is the story of God living among us. Find yourself in the story and how the message connects to you and your life. Suggestion #2: While the King James is a traditional translation of the Bible, it is a language that we no longer speak. If you really want to understand the Bible, read a translation or paraphrase of the Bible written in language you understand, in a font, type-set that is easy for you. * The Book of God by Walt Wangren * Common English Bible * The Message * New Living Translation * The Story Suggestion #3: Read from a Children's or Student Bible, whether there is a child in your house or not. While it may not contain all the stories of the Bible, it will be easier to understand and will probably have some great pictures, too! * The Jesus' Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones * The Spark Storybook Bible or The Spark Student Bible from Augsburg Fortress * The Story for Children or The Story for Teens by Zondervan Suggestion #4: If you want to dig deeper into the Bible, read from a study Bible or a Bible with notes and annotations. *The Lutheran Study Bible from Augsburg Fortress * The Oxford Study Bible Suggestion #5: Before investing in a new Bible, read a favorite passage of scripture from various translations.
